Paddy is one of the three main blends in Ireland the other 2 notably Powers and Jameson. originally a Cork Distillers Compay (CDC) product but now part of the Irish Distillers portfolio. Paddy famously got it's name from a CDC sales man Paddy Flaherty who was so well-known that people started to refer to the whiskey he sold as Paddy.Paddy is currently in a non age statement (NAS) blend.

Powers Gold Label
Powers is still probably the most popular standard pub whiskey with whiskey drinkers in Ireland. Even though Jameson recently over took it for the first time in sales in Ireland Powers is still seen as having a slight edge. Powers packs more flavour than the more famous Jameson and it's constituents are solely matured in Bourbon barrel. This is unusual as most Irish Distillers whiskey has some Sherry influence. It also has a 12yo bigger brother which appears to be not readily available outside Ireland but is a real stunner.
